SERVICE

I am an Experienced Leader in Higher Education. I have enjoyed my leadership roles including Service & Elections Chair (university committee), a member of the Faculty Senate Executive Committee (university committee), Academic Scheduling Calendar Committee Co-Chair (university committee), Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair (university committee), and College Flexible Learning Committee Co-Chair (School of Education), to name a few. I have led students through the H2O labs as they served as teaching assistants, and faculty through my work with professional development, leadership roles for Utah Valley University, and collaborating with community organizations and individuals. My leadership experience goes back to my management experience in the retail industry. I managed many teams throughout my work and enjoyed doing this work.

As a leader in professional development, I have led Learning Circles. Learning Circles are 6-week groups that read a book together, analyze this book, facilitate discussions about the book's content, and learn together to better the pedagogy of the faculty at our university. I also enjoy presenting to other staff and faculty to engage them with educational technology tools and Universal Design for Learning. Training people in different modalities, pedagogies, methodologies, and styles is something that brings me to a place of purpose. I lose track of time when I am teaching/training.

As a team member, I am given the opportunity to learn from others, improve my team member skills, and learn from other facilitators regarding their techniques and approaches. There is something new to learn at each meeting and learning event. I love learning and my philosophy includes the edict to gather at least 1 thing I learned from each presenter/facilitator.
